Wedding Magic

Magic is the only word I know to describe August 15, 2020.

Between the multiple plans, timely decisions, and high expectations, it was as if magic made our wedding happen perfectly. My dear friend, Katie Minehan, was in it with us the entire process. She is a bad ass wedding planner and there was absolutely no way we could have pulled this day off without her running the show.

In the end, we finally got to worship—together—with our dear friends and family, dance under the stars, and experience pure magic. And to think... this was plan B (or C or D, we’re not actually sure at this point)

Our original plan had been to get married in our little white church in Nashville and have a large party at ONE Historic Place with a big band and all of our friends and family. But as we all know, large indoor parties are not the theme of 2020. We waited it out as long as we could, but 2 months out, we pivoted. 

Although we were incredibly sad to not have several of our dear friends and family there with us, we were still very thankful to have a celebration with a few. Brad’s brother and sister-in-law offered their adorable cabin and property outside of Nashville in Leiper’s Fork to host our new outdoor COVID friendly wedding.

Thank Jesus that we are not in control. A true blessing and reminder that His plan is way WAY greater than ours—and that he really is good.

On August 15th, 2020, we did just that.

I could go on for hours about each vendor we had to help make the day special. Everyone was so easy to work with and willing to pivot with us, even out to the middle of no where Tennessee. Our caters worked out of the tiny kitchen in the cabin to serve delicious food, our bar tenders went above and beyond to create the most delicious signature cocktails, and even the DJs we hired last minute (literally 2 weeks before the wedding) were a huge hit!
