Honeymoon Heaven Pt. 2

Amidst the chaos of 2020, we weren’t sure if we’d get to have a honeymoon—at least the one we wanted. BUT, we were very blessed to still make some version of it happen.

As I mentioned in part 1, our original plan was to start in Los Cabos for a week and then fly up to Napa and spend 3 days in wine country. As things got weird this year, we knew we were going to have to be open to “pivoting.”

Just a few weeks before the trip, Brad made the final call to change the plans. After Cabo, we flew back to Nashville and road tripped the next day to Highlands, NC. We were lucky enough to get a last minute room at Old Edwards Inn & Spa. The weather didn’t allow us to utilize the pool, but we got to enjoy one morning hike and SEVERAL hours in their glorious spa. But our favorite room in the entire place was the Hummingbird Lounge

One of our favorite spots for dinner was On The Veranda. It was peaceful and delicious. I definitely recommend whatever the Chef’s cooking up special. They didn’t steer us wrong.

It rained off an on while we were there, but we were lucky enough to get a good morning hike in with clear skies and great views. We did the Whiteside Mountain Trail. It’s about a 5 mile loop, with an easy way and a hard way. There were several look out spots to soak in the breathtaking views. These photos don’t do it justice.

I clearly didn’t take as many photos while we were here, but we loved the easy, relaxing pace that this little town offered. We most definitely enjoyed the slow mornings and tasty breakfasts.
